Yesterday, the relay began in Seto City, a location that has become synonymous with traditional pottery – so much so that one word for ceramics in Japan is setomono. From there, the flame passed through picturesque areas of the Aichi Prefecture, including the Inuyama castle, one of Japan’s oldest surviving castles and one of five that has been designated as a national treasure of Japan. 🔥
